Advocacy

I offer workshops/trainings/in-services for your organization for the management team to help them understand the benefits of working with a Deaf employee.  I will explain your obligations under federal law (ex. ADA, IDEA, REHAB ACT, etc.) and how they impact your business processes and universal accessibility.  I teach cost saving strategies and walk you through a cost benefit analysis of your current approaches and offer potential adjustments.  When complete your company will walk away with a comprehensive plan that can be put into policy immediately.  The goal is to maximize your profits by creating a welcoming and positive job environment thereby increasing employee and customer retention.

I will work with the management team and the Deaf employee to help mediate mediate cultural, linguistic, and communication misunderstandings.  Training can be provided at all levels of the organization from the entry level employee to the board of directors.  When it comes to cultural competency, if you are human, you will benefit from these workshops.
